Meet the minds behind EYRE.WAY - Amanda and Tim (and a special shout-out to their three gorgeous children). A teacher and plumber by trade, these two are passionate about eco-sustainability and super keen to share the natural wonder of their surrounding environment with those looking to take a breath, explore, and get off grid - even if just for the weekend.

After six years of successfully hosting guests in the seaside town of Port Lincoln, on the southern tip of South Australia, Amanda and Tim are bursting with excitement to offer eco tourism opportunities that highlight the hidden natural treasure of the Eyre Peninsula and surrounds.

Tim brings the practical know-how, while Amanda provides the creative flair and imagination. Together, they are EYRE.WAY.

Can’t wait to meet you (off grid). x

How many boutique off-the-grid Tiny Abodes do EYRE.WAY offer?

Choose from one of four Tiny Abodes, all located in the Lower Eyre Peninsula. Architecturally designed and offering a zero-carbon accommodation experience, EYRE.WAY encourages you to take a breath and take it all in.

Our first two Tiny Abodes are nestled among towering red gums on the banks of a fresh water wetland, on the border of the Coffin Bay National Park. Experience the magic of this bird watchers’ paradise and get back in touch with nature.

Located 50m from its own private Sandy Point Beach, our next Tiny Abode overlooks Sleaford Bay and the Port Lincoln National Park. A beach lovers’ paradise, this section of coastline has been recognised for its spectacular whale watching and panoramic views, all visible from the fully equipped, eco abode.

Another beach lovers’ paradise, our final abode is super close to a secluded and pristine section of coastline, just a stone’s throw from further views across Sleaford Bay to the expanse of pure white sandhills that separate Port Lincoln National Park from the rugged Southern Ocean. Check out the world-class whale watching tours during migration season; there’s always a chance of catching a tasty fish or two from your own private fishing spot.

What features can we expect in the EYRE.WAY Tiny Abodes?

Each of our Tiny Abodes includes a compact designer kitchen, with facilities including a bar fridge, two-burner gas cooktop, brushed gold tapware, boutique-styled tiles and all the utensils and equipment to cook up a storm.

All bedding for the King Size bed is provided, as is the linen for the double bed overhead on the mezzanine floor, ideal for the kids. We are excited to have partnered with BED Threads to provide 100% flax linen, ethically produced, in all our Tiny Abodes. Towels are also supplied.

Inside, find a full ensuite, including a two-person shower and flushing toilet. A cosy lounge and breakfast bar boasts panoramic views of the natural surrounds.

Timber decking and outdoor seating complement the nearby campfire, complete with outdoor cooking equipment. (Note the campfire is subject to local Fire Ban Regulations.) Find an outdoor shower as well - perfect for washing off after a swim or walk through surrounding bushland, and for those who want to get really in touch with nature.

When you check in to your Tiny Abode, you’ll find fresh local produce waiting - we love to support farmers and nearby business owners who are also committed to sustainable practices.

Why the Eyre Peninsula?

The Eyre Peninsula is located on the southern tip of South Australia - where we have called home for nine years.

Known as Australia’s seafood frontier, the Eyre Peninsula is a place of spectacular natural beauty and wilderness. We’re excited for our EYRE.WAY guests to experience the incredible eco-tourism our region has to offer, from cage diving to whale watching, to exploring nearby Lake Gairdner National Park with picnic basket in hand (provided full of delicious local produce).

Amanda says…

“Each of our cabins has been located to provide our guests with what we love so much about the area: spectacular scenery, an abundance of wildlife and a genuine sense of how vast and pristine the area still is. We just love the seclusion this area offers. Being within a short, easy drive of the renowned, mostly surrounded by water, rugged Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay National Parks which are home to rare flora and fauna is the real asset at their disposal. Having the cabins within a stone’s throw of Port Lincoln, a readily accessible, thriving rural centre with all its modern facilities including its recently upgraded Port Lincoln Airport, adds convenience and accessibility to our guests’ experience.”

Tim explains…

“It’s not just the natural attractions, it’s also the people in the area we share a real connection with. Hence, we’ve made a point of using local businesses and know how at every point as long the way. Our boutique cabins have been designed and built using a local architect, builder, tradesman, and all materials have been sourced in Port Lincoln. We are particularly grateful for the support provided by the Local Council, Tourism Centre, and State Tourism Commission.

None of this would be possible without the support of the local farmers and landowners who have so generously made available secluded sections of their stunning properties, that in turn allows us to share the best of what this area has to offer to our appreciative guests”

EYRE.WAY is aimed at maintaining the environment in its pristine natural state, with Tiny Abodes that boast a 100% carbon neutral footprint. Read more about our commitment to sustainability (COMING SOON).

What are our sustainable practices?

EYRE.WAY is all about providing a comfortable, luxurious eco travel experience, while being kind to the planet. Tim and Amanda’s passion for the area is the foundation stone of EYRE.WAY - they live and breathe environmental sustainability in their career and lifestyles.

Our Tiny Abodes are completely powered by their own solar/battery systems that facilitate a reverse-cycle air conditioner, instant gas hot and cold water, a bar fridge and all power points and lighting. The kitchens use gas cooking, which is a clean energy alternative and burns more cleanly than other fossil fuels, thereby producing less greenhouse gas emissions.

The toilets are compostable - a biological process that turns human waste into compostable material. Water is caught from the roof into a rainwater tank, and grey water will be removed off-site into an approved drainage system.

We’ve also chosen to partner with local businesses and sustainable brands to provide an eco-friendly, luxe experience for all EYRE.WAY guests. Visit one of our Tiny Abodes to experience fresh local produce and special deals with our eco-tourism partners in the area.
