Water
Please note that we are not connected to any mains, rainwater or sewerage systems so all our water is carted in and the grey water gets carted off site. Occasionally things can go wrong.
If there is no hot water please check gas bottles (more information about gas in the section below)
Please note that all of the water we use has been through a double filter and is high quality and safe to drink.
Gas
Our cooktop, hot water and barbecue all run on gas. We maintain these regularly but if any of these appliances stop working it may be because we have run out of gas. We keep spare bottles in the hatch under the deck and in the storage box, so please check there and feel free to swap over if necessary.
Air conditioner
Our air conditioner is a bit of a luxury item in our Tiny Abodes and works well with our off grid battery system. They do use a lot of power so be mindful of this. If the air conditioner is not working please make sure the battery system is higher than 80% charged. It needs a minimum of 80% to work. If it’s lower you will need to allow the sun to recharge the solar panels. This can all be checked on the battery management system screen. (View pictures for reference)
If the batteries are above 80% and the a/c unit is not working you will need to push the reset button to activate.
(View pictures for location of switch)
For extra warmth and to save running the heater extra blankets to throw on the bed or around you can be found in the storage box under the bed and hot water bottles can be filled up and used too. They are located under the bed also.
Fan
Please make sure the isolator switch behind the robes is switched on to ensure the fan will turn on with the remote.
Blinds
Our remote blinds are battery operated. Our cleaners charge the blinds as part of each clean however if one is missed it can go flat. We keep the charging cord in the bottom draw (the black one with the white piece attached to it)
Please feel free to charge the blind if you have any issues during your stay.

The blinds operate on a number system... Number 1 blind is the front blind that covers the bi-fold doors and the numbers go around in a clockwise rotation... 2 is the kitchen bench blind. etc
(Please see photos of the remote for the blinds in the attachment for further details if required)
Ladder for Mezzanine
To access the mezzanine we have a portable ladder. We store it under the king bed and it connects to the right hand side of the bed’s base. You will find the ladder folded in half, simply open it out, there are hooks that are securely attached that swing out and hook into the loops above.
(Please see photos below for more detail)
240v Power
If for any reason all power has been shut off, this could be caused by an overload or the system’s power being on low. In this scenario you will need to “Reset” the power.
(View pictures of power circuit board switches to reset)
The key is in the storage box with the other spare keys. Simply switch the RCD Breaker to “on”
(View pictures of keys to open the switch board in glass jar in the storage box)
Lost Key
If a key is lost or you are locked out, there are spare keys located at the main gate on Fishery Bay road. More specifically they are at the base of the left hand post of the first gate you arrive at, this will open the gate, so please open and then place back in the jar once finished with it. The spare key for the Tiny Abode is in the storage box on site.

Access to the Beach
Sandy Point Beach is a magical beach (well we think so anyway) it can be enjoyed from the cliff top or you can walk down onto the beach to feel the sand between your toes. We have future plans to create a low environmental footprint path down onto the beach but the plans are with coastal development and the local council for approval. The beach is currently accessible by walking down the sand dunes. The further from the cliffs you walk, the less steep the sand dunes become.
